Manchester United are under increasing pressure in the chase for Benjamin Šeško after Newcastle submitted a new, improved offer—but INEOS aren’t rattled, Crown88 reports.
Both Premier League sides have made the RB Leipzig striker their top target. On Monday night, The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed Newcastle have raised their proposal: €80m guaranteed up front, with add-ons potentially taking the fee to €90m.
United’s stance on Newcastle’s bid
Despite Newcastle’s aggressive move, Fabrizio Romano says United remain composed and won’t alter their approach. In his latest YouTube update, Romano explained that United won’t rush to match the offer; they’ve told Leipzig they will only submit a formal bid if Šeško chooses Old Trafford as his preferred destination, notes Crown88.
Decision pending: MUFC vs NUFC
Reports suggest Šeško may lean toward United, and the club is effectively betting on the player’s preference—similar to how they pursued Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Even so, Romano stresses Šeško has not made his final decision and is still weighing a career-defining choice. The 22-year-old Slovenian broke through at RB Salzburg before moving to RB Leipzig in 2023, making 87 appearances with 39 goals and eight assists. Expect United to hold their line while the player deliberates, according to Crown88.
